This day.
Was told my two weeks notice was turned into HR. This is really happening. Last day of employment at AUHCC: July 1, 2011.
Sort of turned in cake design to the baker we have already reserved. Gotta wait until next week when her store is actually open and maybe we can talk face-to-face whenever I make it back to Boaz.
Enjoyed an early birthday lunch with my mom, brother, aunt, and grandmother.
Finished the madness of the lease application. It shouldn’t be this difficult. Our landlord probably already hates me. But it will work out :)
Found out that our next wedding shower is a luau. Epic.
Bought our wedding bands.
Had a consultation with the florist. As soon as they get back to us with an estimate, we can make our order. How much do you LOVE these orchids? http://tinyurl.com/42ur5vu My answer is: “A LOT.”
Saw some ridiculous wind and storm while talking to the florist. After we left we saw even more trees down around Cullman. Streets covered and power lines down. Those trees definitely got the original damage from earlier storms and just couldn’t take anymore. Luckily, we didn’t see any trees (that fell today) on top of houses or cars. Still, it was sad to see such big beautiful trees on the ground. And more power outage. I know these people are still weary and trying to catch up from the last blackout.
Decided on the tux situation. Gonna be awesome.
Found out that the Oktoberzest situation is a “go”. Win.
Discussed many possibilities of how to execute the early move. Keep in mind that our lease will start on July 1. Today is June 22. Yeah. We’re getting our stuff up there the second we can get it on a truck. Starting packing as soon as we get back in Auburn. That’s tomorrow. (But realistically, the packing won’t actually start tomorrow. But probably Thursday.)
Had an early birthday dinner with my mom and Tommy at PF Changs. Awesome. Destroyed my diet…… but it’s my birfday! (almost…) Four words: Great Wall of Chocolate.
Came home and did some of my reading for marriage counseling. We have a meeting tomorrow. Tommy and I are both enjoying this book. I wanted to post a quote here, but then I realized that I might end up posting half the book. So maybe another time.
I am looking forward to our marriage with so much joy. I’m definitely looking forward to the wedding. But the marriage…. that’s why I’m in this. To be married to my best friend and true love, Tommy. I still can’t find the words, but he’s inspiring the song.
I think Moulin Rouge is my favorite movie. But the end is on now and it’s making me sad.
I may or may not have called (definitely did call) Tommy, trying to wake him up and talk to me, because I miss him, I’m bored, and my favorite movie makes me sad. He didn’t wake up. So I proceeded to cuddle the puppy and finish the movie while posting this blog. My last favorite movie was The Patriot. Also super sad. Even sadder now. I miss Heath Ledger. Inspired.
Grateful to my mom, all four of my grandparents, and my aunt/uncle/cousins the Carpenters for my (early) birthday gifts today! I feel loved :) But I got a paper cut opening one of the cards. Paper cuts are THE WORST.
Still waiting to hear from 71. Anxiously :)
I have the cutest puppy in THE. ENTIRE. WORLD. But she keeps looking at my like “Do you really have to wake me up every two seconds petting me?” I know she likes the attention anyway.
Things to be done and sleep to be slept.
Until next time, smoking kills. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303936704576399320327189158.html
