Feathery Fudge Cake with Chocolate Oreo Whipped Cream Frosting and Chocolate Ganache

Aim of today’s baking venture: Decadence. Luxurious self-indulgence.

Result of today’s baking venture: Disaster.

The ganache wouldn’t thicken. The frosting melted. AND THEN all of this liquid seeped into the cake and it started falling apart. It’s a mess.

The saddest part is having to refrigerate to save it from further destruction. So no warm chocolate cake.

The upside: I’ve learned from it. I have some ideas for the next time I want to make a cake like this.

I can tell you that my next project will not be a similar cake. The whole point of this is to grow and have diverse baking skills and ideas.



It’s amazing how, over the years, my creativity has sloooowly moved from writing to cooking. I almost never write. I can’t stay away from the spice cabinet.
